In the seventies the company was bursting at the seams and, therefore, moved to larger premises in Schwäbisch Gmünd - the location of today's head office. And, this is also the era when John Lennon's small, round metal frame became the symbol of a young, consumer critical generation, creating increased demand for these frames.
An new plant is established:
From 1970 the new plant in Ireland served as production and distribution facility.
New production facilities:
1972 saw the opening of the plant in Malta; in 1973 the production facility in Switzerland was established.
New subsidiaries:
From 1973 until 1979 distribution offices were established in Switzerland, The Netherlands, England and in Ireland.
Three generations of the founder family:
Following the family tradition the management responsibility has been passed down from one generation to the next.
