In 1896 the goldsmith Ferdinand Menrad founded the Württembergische Optische Industrie Anstalt Ferdinand Menrad in Schwäbisch Gmünd.  For more than 100 years Menrad has now been activ3e in the spectacle frame business.  The company is one hundred percent family owned and managed by the fourth generation already.  And the company is represented by 12 subsidiaries and manufacturing facilities located in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands, France, Great Britain, Ireland, China and Dubai.
