125 years of excellence in eyewear

The family-owned company Menrad, which is headquartered in Germany’s Schwäbisch Gmünd, has been active in the eyewear business for 125 years and is one of the leading eyewear manufacturers in Europe. Today, the company is run by the fourth generation of the family, brothers Eberhard and Hermann Müller-Menrad.

With about 250 employees worldwide, Menrad products are available on all continents and in over 100 countries. The products are supplied through the company’s own subsidiaries in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, England, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Turkey, China and the Middle East, as well as through our export department – based in Munich – to all other countries.

Menrad develops, manufactures and distributes prescription frames and sunglasses at the very highest level. The best materials, exclusive designs and maximum wearer comfort are all combined to create products of exceptional quality. With a refined sense for trends and great attention to detail, our designers put their own signature on each brand and allow this to flow into the designs that underpin the collections.

Menrad has been manufacturing abroad since 1970. 2006 - 2022, the company has exclusively used its own factory in China, where operations are steered from the headquarters in Germany. All eyewear is designed and developed in Germany at locations in Munich and Schwäbisch Gmünd. From the first to the last step, everything is completed in-house, in order to ensure comprehensive control over every single process step. Only by doing so is it possible to consistently guarantee high levels of quality at all times.
